Terms of service
These terms are between you and Iurii Chulovskyi JDG, Poland (“we”), and cover the Postermap app for Android and the website postermap.app. By using Postermap you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it. Questions: support@postermap.app.
1. Using Postermap
You must be at least 13 years old. You can start without an account; the app makes an anonymous one in the background. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
2. The free plan
Every person gets 3 free posters. They are given once and do not reset. The limit is kept per person and per phone: reinstalling the app, clearing its data or making another account does not give you more (we keep a one-way marker of your phone for this, see the privacy policy). Exports of free posters carry a small “Made with Postermap” mark and QR code (see section 5).
3. Postermap Pro
- What you get: 20 new posters in each billing period, and exports without the “Made with Postermap” mark and QR code.
- Price and billing: the price is shown in Google Play, in your currency, before you subscribe, and that price applies. The subscription is billed monthly through Google Play and renews automatically until you cancel. There is no free trial.
- The 20 posters: they reset on the day your subscription renews, not on the first of the month. Unused posters do not carry over.
- What counts as a poster: only making a new one. Editing, duplicating and exporting a poster are always free.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Pro then runs until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your Postermap account does not cancel the subscription.
- After cancelling: you keep every poster and can still view, edit and export them. New exports carry the mark again, and making a new poster needs posters left from the free plan or a new subscription.
- Refunds: payments are made to Google, so refunds follow Google Play’s refund rules. Your rights under consumer law are not affected.
- Price changes: if the price changes, Google Play tells you before it applies, and you can cancel.
4. Your content
Give Postermap only links, files and text that you may use. You are responsible for what you give it. The AI that reads them can be wrong: the app shows you the places it found so that you can check them, and you are responsible for the posters you make and share. A poster is a stylised picture, not a navigation map or an exact map: do not use it to find your way.
5. Using your posters, also commercially
Every poster you make is yours to use however you like, for personal or commercial purposes, anywhere and without a fee to us: on social media, as prints, as gifts, in a shop, as a custom order for a customer, on products such as mugs or T-shirts, and by selling the prints or the files. This is the same for free and Pro posters.
The mark on free posters. A free poster may be used commercially only together with the “Made with Postermap” mark and QR code exactly as exported. You may not crop, cover, blur or edit the mark or the QR code out of a free poster. If you want to use a poster without the mark, export it with Postermap Pro.
What remains ours. The grant above covers your posters. It does not give you the app itself, the poster styles and the landmark icons as such: you may not sell or distribute them on their own (for example as clip art or a template pack) or use them to build a competing tool. The Postermap name and logo stay ours: do not suggest that Postermap made, sponsored or endorses your shop or your products.
You can do this because everything on a poster is free to use this way: the map data is Natural Earth (public domain), the landmark icons are ours, and the fonts are open-source fonts under the SIL Open Font License, which does not restrict documents made with them.
We do not print or sell posters. To print, take the file to a print shop.
6. Fair use
Do not try to get around the limits (for example the free posters or the monthly posters), to harm or overload the service, to use it with scripts or bots, to take it apart or to use it to break the law or other people’s rights. We may limit or close an account that does.
7. Your account
You may delete your account at any time in the app under Settings or on the delete account page. This deletes your account and your backed-up posters (see the privacy policy for what is kept).
8. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change, add or remove features, and we will try to give notice of changes that matter. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app or on this page before it applies; if you do not agree, you can stop using Postermap and cancel your subscription. Posters you have already made stay yours.
9. Our responsibility
Postermap is provided “as is”, and we cannot promise that it will always work or that its results are right. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for any other loss is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent, gross negligence, injury to life or health, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where we are established, without taking away the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live. Disputes go to the courts that the law makes responsible; if you are a consumer, you can also go to the courts of your own country.
